Choosing your Systainers

StackDesign's catalog already knows the Systainers, so you never type a dimension off a lid. Here is what it carries and how a Systainer turns into a cabinet size.

The brands in the catalog

The catalog carries Festool, Benchdogs UK, Lamello, TSO Products and UJK Systainers - 217 today, searchable in one list. One cabinet can hold a mix of brands side by side, and each Systainer is drawn in its maker's own color, so a Lamello still reads as a Lamello on the sketch.

Footprints and heights

Systainers come in standard footprints - M is the common one at 396 by 296 mm, L is longer, XXL is the big flat one - and in standard heights within each footprint. The planner draws all of them to scale in the same wall.

How a Systainer becomes a cabinet width

The cabinet is sized from the Systainers, never the other way around. An M-footprint cabinet comes out at 489 mm outside width with the default settings (3/4" carcass and 1/2" trays); an L cabinet comes out at 601 mm and an XXL at 885 mm. Change your material thicknesses and the width follows, because what the planner holds constant is the fit around the Systainer: the tray, the slide clearance and the Systainer itself.

Small Systainers share a tray

S-height Systainers use the same footprint as M, and two of them share one tray. The planner does that pairing for you - you place the Systainers, it works out the trays.

Planning with Systainers you don't own yet

The quantities in your Stock view are what you own, but you can place any Systainer from the catalog. The to-buy readout tallies exactly which Systainers the plan uses that are not in your stock - a shopping list, not a blocker.
