Open beta terms
CabDesign and StackDesign are free to use, in full, while they are in open beta. This page covers what the beta includes, what you get for reporting a bug, how the 3FREE code works, and what happens when the beta ends.
The short version
A quick read to get oriented. The numbered sections below are the terms themselves.
- Both products are free during the open beta. Anyone can sign up and no card is needed.
- Report a bug that leads to a fix and you earn one free month of service, up to six (6) months in total.
- The code 3FREE is worth three (3) months of free service once paid plans start.
- Bug months and the 3FREE code add together, up to nine (9) months.
- The beta has no set end date. We will email you before it ends, and before anything costs money.
1. Who these terms are from
Bespoke Woodcraft Studio runs CabDesign at cabdesign.app and StackDesign at stackdesign.app. These open beta terms cover both.
They add to our general Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. They do not replace either one, so everything in those documents still applies to you while the beta runs.
2. What the open beta is
Both products are free, in full, during the open beta. Every feature that is built is open to every account. Anyone can sign up, and you do not need to put a card on file to use either product.
There is no set end date. When we are ready to close the beta and start charging, we will email account holders first, so nobody wakes up to a bill they did not expect.
We are still building, so the products move under your feet a little. We may change a beta feature, or pause one while we work on it.
3. Beta software has rough edges
Expect rough edges. That is what a beta is, and finding them is most of what we are asking for.
Keep your own copy of anything that matters. In CabDesign, the Save to computer button writes a whole design to a file you hold. In StackDesign, send your bank to the cut list, then print it or download the CSV. Do that for any project you would be sorry to lose.
We work hard to keep your projects intact, and during the beta we cannot promise it.
4. Report a bug, earn a free month
Every tool page carries a report button once you are signed in. Use it to tell us what went wrong. If your report leads to a fix, you earn one free month of service, credited to your account and applied once paid plans start.
| The rule | What it means |
|---|---|
| One month per fix | A report that leads to a fix earns one free month of service. |
| First clear report wins | The first report that clearly describes a bug earns the credit. A later report of the same bug does not. |
| Six months is the ceiling | You can earn at most six (6) months this way, however many reports you send. |
| We decide what counts | We judge in good faith whether a report described a real bug and whether it led to a fix. |
| Months, not money | Credits are months of service. They are not cash, and they cannot be given or sold to anyone else. |
| Abuse earns nothing | We may withhold credit for spam, made-up reports, or anything else sent to game the reward. |
Your credits sit on your account until paid plans start, and then they run down one month at a time.
5. The 3FREE code
The code 3FREE is worth three (3) months of free service once paid plans start. One redemption per person.
There are two ways to use it. Enter 3FREE in your account during the beta and the three (3) months are banked there, ready for the day paid plans begin. Or keep the code and enter it at checkout after the beta ends.
Bug reward months and the 3FREE code add together. Six (6) months of bug credit alongside the code's three (3) months comes to nine (9) months, which is the most anyone can hold.
6. Your account
One person per account. Do not share your sign-in, and do not open extra accounts to get around the limits on this page.
The conduct rules in our general Terms of Service apply during the beta exactly as they do after it. We may suspend an account that abuses the beta.
7. Changes to these terms
We may update this page while the beta runs. The date at the top is the date of the version you are reading. If you keep using either product after an update, that is your acceptance of the updated terms.
8. Questions
Ask, and a person answers. The support page has the guides and a direct line to us. Questions about these beta terms specifically can go to support@cabdesign.app for CabDesign, or support@stackdesign.app for StackDesign.
